The Nomadic people of the Mongolian Steppe have strong ties to their animals and nature, as it is necessary to survive and thrive. The intense connection to their animals is essential; the herd must be well cared for so they can produce the healthy coats that insulate them to weather the severe winters on the plateau. Working together and with nature, the nomads move their herds along the plateau so the animals can feed and stock up energy to produce the long, resilient warm fibers generated during the harsh winter temperatures. These fibers are later combed and collected by hand and prepared for sale to buyers seeking those who will use these valuable raw materials for luxury textile creations.
